A Thank You Note from Ft. Hood
Great! The Soldiers love our Art Experience kits. We are proud to provide Share Art Heal Art Experiences to active-duty solders at Ft. Hoods Resiency Art Room at the Apache Arts and Crafts Center. The Apache staff was inspired to create the room following training from the "Resiliency Through Art" initiative sponsored by the U.S. Army Installation Management Command and the American Art Therapy Association and in April 2012. Soldiers have a quiet space stocked with art supplies where they can create. Here is a note we recieved from the manager of the Apache Arts Center.
Mr. Baker We received the SHARE ART HEAL kits and think they are wonderful for the Soldiers...so much fun packed in a small bag... The Soldiers at Fort Hood are so much in need of more healing craft time. Those who do participate have resounding praises for how it Has helped them in their personal and work life. We have had over 8,000 Soldiers utilize the Resiliency Art Room in the past 2 years. We feel it has and IS being successful.. Generous donations like yours helps us keep it going. Such a wonderful cause, there is no dollar value you can attach to what we do For these Soldiers...but it is priceless. I thank you so much for helping us keep this program going.
Art is Therapy
We sent the Greeting Card, Silver Lining Bracelet and Origami Art Experience Kits to Ft Hood. We have also sent sketch paper, drawing pencils, colored pencils, fine watercolor paper and watercolors. We will keep the Resiency Art Room stocked with our kits and art supplies. We are expanding this program to get art supplies to more Soldiers.
